Hitting the new year off with something I hope to make a monthly thing, after being messaged a few times with this suggestion on my social media.
My January Favourites, consisting of (in this case) books I plan on reading, series I have already watched and clothing inspiration for this month.
Now, it might seem weird that I’ve included things I haven’t read/watched yet but bare with me, I will do at some point this month.
As part of my new years resolutions I have decided that ‘reading more’ is something I can only gain from. Over the years I have accumulated dozens of books, some good, others…crap.
Now, I’m not going to read them all, I’ll tell you that now. But I’ve decided I’ll be more invested in buying books that I actually do want to read and not forcing myself to read stuff like, the harry potter series or something.
Otegha Uwagba – LITTLE BLACK BOOK, a toolkit for working women
I have seen this book about 17 million times all over my instagram and twitter feed. Not only does it look good but Otegha Uwagba’s Little Black Book is a Sunday Times Best Seller. I’ll be sure to give you an update on how it was once it’s arrived and I’ve had a chance to read it.
Mara Wilson – Where Am I Now? True Stories of Girlhood and Accidental Fame
I’ve got to be honest here, this book was given to me as a birthday present… in 2016…and I still haven’t read it. BUT there’s no better time than NOW, that’s what a wisdomous old person would say. So some time this year, I strive to start, finish and update you on this book.
Something new to me in 2017 was binge watching Netflix series, of course I tackled the usual, 13 reasons why, Stranger Things, and most recently The Sinner, all wonderful, all worth watching.
American Vandal – Netflix
OH-KAY, now! I’ll just get this out of the way right now, this documentary is one of the funniest things I have seen in all my lives. Besides the fact that Jimmy Tatro is the human embodiment of perfection and has a voice deeper than the Atlantic ocean, this piss take of a real style investigatory documentary is tremendous.
I got recommended this by a friend and didn’t really have the highest hopes for it but I’ve never been so happy to be wrong. My one and only major series that has topped my January and started my year off hilariously.
I can not stress enough my admiration, love and passion for coats/jackets. They make up most of my wardrobe and as much as my boyfriend and friends might say, none of them are the same OR are similar in any way! There is nothing wrong with having 4 leather jackets.
My must-buy’s for this month have to be:
- Black leather jacket with silver detailing
- A thick scarf, it still Winter folks
- A bright faux fur jacket
- A monochrome jumper
This is something I would like to do on a monthly basis so as usual, comment, like and message me if you have any requests for future posts. getting back into this now so hopefully this will be a good year fro my blog.
Thanks – M
